The Bavarian Practice Based Research Network (BayFoNet)

The Bavarian Practice Based Research Network (BayFoNet) provides a new infrastructure for the promotion of research in general practice through the cooperation between general practices and scientists. We will carry out joint projects with the participating practices, thereby strengthening their staff’s research skills. For this purpose, we offer training courses and promote regional scientific networking, also beyond primary care.

The joint research project includes the institutes for general practice at the University Hospital Würzburg, the University Hospital Erlangen, Munich University Hospital and Technical University of Munich. BayFoNet is one of six networks in Germany funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) in the period between 2020 and 2025. These six regional networks, together with the coordination office, form the Initiative of German Practice-Based Research Networks – DESAM-ForNet.
